《重修旧好》00000-Le Petite Prince小王子
Out of the four categories -衣(wear),食(eat)住(live)行(travel), my task is to create a practical art piece based on衣 "WEAR" item.
Here's a short brief to share with you,
We have a local indie bookstore as our exhibition platform, which meant I could customize my mending apparel to suit the bookstore theme. Personally, I really love to read classical children books, they are so simple yet impactful.
classical children book x local essence x waste =?
Here's my 1st piece, a used garlic net, crochet needle and thread - the most organic way for me to create an art piece. I wasn't sure what I was going to make but I knew it has to be related to a children's book character.
经典故事书 x 本土风味 x 废物=？ 会是什么样的火花呢？
The more I crochet, the more it started to look like the shape of a snake which reminds me of boa constrictor from Le Petite Prince.

And then inspiration appeared in the form of a sketch with a local twist, utilising the old elephant mosaic playground.
and then fine-tuning the draft
Recycled threads were used to stuff into the mini elephant
Completed the head and the mouth finished with a metal clasp, the eyes of the snake were inked with mini studs
It is only with heart that one can see rightly: What's essential it's invisible to the eye.“一个人只有用心去看，才能看到事实，事情的真相只用眼睛是看不见的。”-Antoine de saint exupery
